A political source in Iraq confirmed Sunni’s pursuit to obtain the country’s president position.
The source said, a leader in political Sunni party in statement to RT, the Sunni parties are seeking the position of president of the country in exchange for parliament speaker to the Kurds.
He added: the current parliament speaker, Mohammed Al-Halbousi, is putting forward this plan.
According to the political tradition established in Iraq since 2003, the president position is occupied by the Kurds, the prime minister position is occupied by shiia, while the Sunni’s share is the parliament speaker position.
