The Strategic Studies Center of Al-Furat, in its latest monthly conference, discussed the recent lawsuits about the Iraqi popular mobilization units and Iraq’s national security. Annaba cultural and media center was hosting this conference, which enjoyed the attendance of several political analysts, social experts and economic specialists. In this conference, Dr. Khalid Al-Ardawi, the head of Al-Furat Center explained: “After the many sacrifices by the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units and considering their important role in Iraq’s national security, these forces were placed on par with Iraq’s army.” Furthermore, he added: “All governmental and private organizations as well as the legislative bodies are required to analyze this transition and highlight the role of these forces in Iraq’s national security. All these actions should be directed to help the Popular Units in liberating the entire Iraq from terrorists’ grasp.”
