The independent parliament member, Bassim Khashan, underlined the government’s failure in controlling food supplies’ prices at the Iraqi markets.

Khashan stated to Annabaa News Agency: with Ramadan around the corner, the prices of food supplies are in constant increase in every Iraqi market. The governmental authorities lost control over this increase and yet only the citizen would be burdened with this collateral damage.

He elaborated: the Iraqi government failed to take any actions to support the poor facing this high price wave, but rather the government provoked the crisis of the Iraqi wide poor class by refusing to lower the US Dollar exchange rate as this was the main factor in stretching the poor class, unemployment, and prices surge.
